The VIP Forum (wwww.thevipforum.com/VIP) is classified as
"providing best practices research and executive education to
executives at affluent market and investment providers"....basically
an excellent information tool for those within the investments
industry to use to understand specific trends and patterns in their
industry globally...

I'm looking for the equivalent in the cabling industry, specifically
for Australia/New Zealand, but then I'd like to know if the equivalent
exists at a regional level i.e. Asia Pacific and then if thee
equivalent exists at a global level?

Dear jeepers,

Thanks for your question. First, let me request that if any of the
following is unclear or if you require any further research – please
don’t hesitate to ask me for a clarification.

As I understand, you are seeking to locate industry associations or
other organizations through which you can remain informed as regards
the cabling industry in your region as well as globally.

I have identified the following organizations and information sources
–

NECA – National Electrical and Communications Association
***************************************************

This is an Australian organization located at –

IT&Titab

“Advancing IT&T Standards in Australia”

See especially –

IT&Titab also provides a list of relevant industry associations:

Australian Computer Societyhttp://www.acs.org.au/

BICSI

knowledge with professional registration programs. “

BICSI chairman for Australia and New Zealand is Col Browitt, and
Martin La Touche is New Zealand coordinator.

On a global level, the following seem to be good resources:

Cabletesting.com

Carriers’ World

“Where the world’s bandwidth community does business”

TIA Online
***********

“Full-service trade association representing providers of
communications and IT products and services for the global
marketplace”

http://www.tiaonline.org/index.cfm

I could not locate an Asia Pacific specific resource.

I hope this response adequately addresses your request. Please let me
know if you are in need of additional information concerning this
query.

Thanks,
