Which ISPs (other than AOL) can allow me to access my emails in the UK

me connect to the internet and access emails from UK and Europe
(Greece mainly). I am based in the UK.

Hi Screba,

Although you've received a lot of good comments about web based email,
which is definitely a useful thing to have at times, I see you don't
yet have the information you wanted about ISPs that will allow you to
connect to the Internet from various countries. I'm assuming you're
interested in worldwide internet access, not just email, so that you
can connect to the 'net from wherever you might be with your laptop or
mobile phone or PDA or whatever. If so, there are some companies
other than AOL that do offer this type of worldwide access and
service.

Here's a webpage with information about a number of these services:
http://www.internetservicelist.com/pages/c.asp?cid=11

This ISP has local access in over 150 countries, including the UK and
Greece:
http://www.iberpass.com/us/access-points.html

In addition, here are links to several more sites with information
about companies that provide comprehensive internet access for the
areas you need. Their bases vary, and some have a monthly or yearly
contract, some are prepaid, some are metered. However, all include
local access numbers in the UK and Greece, as well as others
worldwide:

http://www.maglobe.com/home.htm
http://www.roamintl.com/
http://myhosting.com/dialup/
http://www.connect.com.au/accessglobalroam.cfm

I do hope these will give you enough choices for a single ISP that
will let you connect while travelling. If not, or you need additional
information, please ask for clarification before rating the answer, as
I'm interested in helping you find what you need.

Best wishes,
Byrd

While it isn't an "ISP" per se, I use hotmail - which can be accessed *anywhere*.

http://www.yahoo.com

And equally, you can set up a web based email
account on Yahoo, which will also allow you to
(in most cases) pick your email up from other
ISPs (joe@otherisp.com). You would need to be
able to access the web through, for example, a
Internet cafe, though for this to work.

Many if not most ISP's that offer local dialup (or DSL, and cable)
service offer "POP3" accounts that can be accessed over the internet
from any online computer (and many cell phones). There are also many
services that provide the "POP3" accounts without offering a
connection, and then there are the Web Based services, that can be
accessed from any online computer. So there are really thousands of
them,
in the UK you might try http://www.portland.co.uk for free POP3
Accounts, and even free webpage hosting. They even have free dialup
access in parts of London.

Demon Internet have a Web Mail facility which allows you to access
your normal email from anywhere, provided you can get to a computer
with a browser and web access.
