FYI, I answered question #121700.

According to the activity series, copper does not react with acids
readily. In reality, if copper is exposed to a very strong acid
(concentrated nitric acid, for example), it will react. I do not know
what colour it will turn, though. Do know that concentrated nitric
acid is very dangerous and difficult to find unless from special
chemistry shops or industrial plants.
