Looking for sales figures for Nintendo Gamecube vs. Sony Playstaion 2.
Need week-by-week OR month-by-month figures for sales of gaming
consoles (hardware only, not software) for 2002. Prefer USA sales
figures but Japan sales figures will do as a last resort.

I was able to find the following sales figures in an article,
Title:	Statistics.
Source:	J@pan Inc., Mar2002, Vol. 3 Issue 29, p40, 2p, 4 graphs
Author(s): Kawakami, Sumie

(worldwide numbers)

Microsoft: 1.5 million Xboxes by the end of 2001
Nintendo: projected 2.3 million GameCubes

PS2 released March 2000 in Japan, October 2000 in the US
GameCube released September 2001 in Japan, November 2001 in the US
XBox released November 2001 in Japan, February 2002 in Japan

I hope that at least helps some.

Thanks
