British Member of Parliament Mr John Stonehouse faked his
disappearance off Miami beach, he turned up in Australia (no he didn't
swim!), arrested on his return to UK. Question - is there a book
published telling the story and his exploits?

The only book I could find about the notorious John Stonehouse is his
autobiography:

"Death of an Idealist" (1975)
Pulbisher: W. H. Allen

The book is out of print, but I found a used copy for $12.00 at:
