Dear booklady143-ga;

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and thank you for allowing
me an opportunity to answer your question.

World history and literature are full of references to the word
“bliss”. I hope you find the list I have compiled blissfully
informative:

MAHARISHI MEHESH YOGI

“The basis of life is unbounded bliss and every individual can
experience it without effort.”
http://www.alltm.org/Maharishi.html

“The nature of life is bliss. Everyone is born to enjoy, we are not
born to suffer. We have been hearing for centuries past that there is
great potentiality hidden within everyone. It is hidden in us not
because it is difficult to bring out, but simply because we are not
bringing it out, that is all. The storehouse of all wisdom,
creativity, peace, and happiness is there — the brain of man is
equipped with the ability to experience absolute bliss, absolute
happiness, absolute peace, absolute creativity, absolute wisdom. The
absolute field of life can be fathomed and experienced and lived
constantly by everyone. The only one thing to be done is to add
Transcendental Meditation as part of the daily routine.”

“Enjoy your life and be happy. Being happy is of the utmost
importance. Success in anything is through happiness. More support of
nature comes from being happy. Under all circumstances be happy, even
if you have to force it a bit to change some long standing habits.
Just think of any negativity that comes at you as a raindrop falling
into the ocean of your bliss. You may not always have an ocean of
bliss, but think that way anyway and it will help it come. Doubting is
not blissful and does not create happiness. Be happy, healthy and let
all that love flow through your heart.”

“Our task of the day is to find a cure for this major ill of humanity.
The heart of man is so changed. The inner man has to be transformed..
A direct experience of the Blissful nature of Soul and the inner man
is completely transformed. The mind, experiencing the Great Bliss,
feels satisfaction and this satisfaction of the mind results in right
understanding and virtuous action, kindness, love and compassion for
all....”

“"Life is bliss.”

"Sleep in the bliss of God.
Feel love of God, Lie in the showers of his blessings.
Let your heart melt in the love of God.
Sleep in the love of God and in Love.
Sleep in the warmth of Divine Grace,
Without my words -- only in this feeling"
http://homepages.tesco.net/~d.saunders/TMCafe/Quotes.htm

"The bliss of the state of enlightenment eliminates the possibility of
sorrow, great or small. Into the bright light of the sun no darkness
can penetrate; no sorrow can enter bliss-consciousness, nor can
bliss-consciousness know any greater than itself."

SWAMI PARMAHANSA YOGANANDA

Excerpt from “The Divine Romance”

"Love gives joy ...
All the divine emotions -- love, compassion, courage,
self-sacrifice, humility -- would be meaningless without joy.
Joy means exhilaration, an expression of the ultimate bliss."
http://meinah.tripod.com/KITA/dromance.html

CHARLES HARPUR

Excerpt from “Sonnet”

“SHE loves me! From her own bliss-breathing lips
The live confession came, like rich perfume
From crimson petals bursting into bloom!”
http://www.bartleby.com/249/9.html

CARMAN BLISS (who just coincidentally is also named “Bliss”)

Excerpt from “On Love”

“And what is energy,
In-working, which bids be
The starry pageant and the life of earth?
What is the genesis
Of every joy and bliss,
Each action dared, each beauty brought to birth?”
http://www.bartleby.com/236/260.html

ROBERT BURNS

Excerpt from “Verses on a Parting Kiss”

“HUMID seal of soft affections,
Tenderest pledge of future bliss,
Dearest tie of young connections,
Love’s first snowdrop, virgin kiss!”
http://www.bartleby.com/6/240.html

I have taken care to define my search strategy for you so that you may
follow my example at your leisure. This way you can "shop around" for
the poems and quotes that you deem worthy of this wonderful event. The
ones I have listed are merely examples of references to the word BLISS
and you can repeat this process very easily. Simply go to
http://www.bartleby.com/verse/, as I did, and type in the word BLISS
and you will see hundreds of references to poetry and famous quotes
containing, or making reference to, the word BLISS. I cannot choose
one for you, of course, but hopefully you will be able to find one
that says exactly what you hope to convey at your wedding.

I hope you find that that my research exceeds your expectations. If
you have any questions about my research please post a clarification
request prior to rating the answer. Otherwise, I welcome your rating
and your final comments and I look forward to working with you again
in the near future. Thank you for using Google Answers.

Best of luck on your future together;
Tutuzdad-ga
