What is the ranking criteria to identify the "top" 100 companies?

Those companies listed as part of FTSE 100.

I have the list of FTSE 100 companies and their websites. Could you
give me some examples of the specific contacts you are seeking? You
want the IT or e-business executives, right? Name and email address?
So basically what you need is a table with three columns: company
name, contact name, and email address -- is this correct?

This is absolutely correct. If you could provide this, you are a SAINT!!

The FTSE 100 company websites are generally of poor quality, and
provide almost no contact information. I can try to collect contacts
that should be close to the IT/e-business executives. For most
companies I can get a name and a phone number, for some I may be able
to get an email address and a telephone number. Would this be
acceptable to you?

That would be great!

The Top 100 FTSE Companies websites directoty that I found was only
current as of June 2000. Would a source for a current list of IT
companies in the UK for purchase be of help to you? I found a current
one that can be purchased for $49.99 (USD). Each record will list the
Name of the company, the address / location of the company, email
supported by the name of the contact person and telephone number.

Please let me know if this will suffice as an answer.

Unfortunately, IT companies won't work. I would definitely need
contacts within FTSE 100 Companies. I am in sales and doing research
for companies to target for the upcoming year.

Hi dreese!

This is my third large contact list compilation, and it still amazes
me that so many companies put such precious little contact information
on their web pages. Contact information for the FTSE 100 companies is
sparse to non-existent on their pages, so I had to resort to other
sources.

In instances where contact information was not available on the
company web page, I culled it from capsules at Hoover's Online [
http://www.hoovers.com ]. Companies do not typically list the names
of their e-business or IT personnel at all, so "corporate
communications" contacts have been sought out. You can also get more
detailed company and contact information by subscribing to Hoover's -
additional contacts over and above basic postal, phone and fax
information is considered "premium content". Subscriptions start at
~$50/month.

The first step in locating your contacts was finding a comprehensive
list of the FTSE 100. Accountancy Age has just such a list, including
company websites.

Source: http://www.accountancyage.com/extras/web_directory/wd_ftse.jsp

Information was then gathered from individual company sites and
individual Hoover's capsules.

I've organized the information thusly: Company name, URL, contact
name (where available), postal address, telephone number, fax number,
e-mail address or contact form (where available). Most companies
offer a general e-mail box or web form instead of a specific name - be
certain to put the name of your intended receipient and/or department
in the subject line to ensure it is routed appropriately.

The companies are listed in alphabetical order. Since listing them
here would prove unwieldy, I've compiled the list in a downloadable
file for you. The file is 35KB zipped, and will unzip to 192KB and 21
pages in Word format:

I hope you find this listing helpful. If I can be of further
assistance, simply ask for clarification, and I'll be glad to help.

Missy, as they say in the UK, you're a star! We subscribe to hoovers,
but sometime find it difficult to get information for UK companies.
I'll give a look at the other resources you provided. Thank you
again!!! Happy Holidays!!

Timely and concise information. Also found some other researching
tools I can use in the process. Well worth it!
