My cat is taking the steroid 'prednisone' to prevent her from
scratching herself. She has a 5 mg tablet every two days. This was

I'm sorry to say prednisone tablets are not available in Canada
without a prescription. You're going to have to have one from your
veterinarian to buy these pills.

If it's price you're trying to save on, you might try these mail order
folks, who are based right in Toronto. I can't vouch for their prices
on prednisone, but a couple of their other medications look less
expensive than what I've seen at other local pharmacies in the GTA.

(not to stop scratching myself mind), so probably not in Toronto
either. You can try asking a (human) pharmacist, he'll know if it is
prescription only.
