What i am basicly trying to do is sniff the sip traffic between my
computer and the server my cisco ata 186 talks to.
First the list of equipment i have
1) cisco ata 186
2) netstream 5360 dsl modem
3) netgear router
4) 10 port and 100 port hubs
5) Windows xp
I have tried using ethernal with the sip option plus i have also tried
agilent yet i recieve no sip packets.
Right now i am configured using my netgear router it logs me into my
dsl ppoe and assigns everything a 192. address.
I dont even see traffic from the cisco which i think it assigns
192.168.0.3.
When i attempt to connect it up direct with a hub the cisco never
get's a ip.

Yeah i have had the hubs for a while.
Plain old hub is all it is.
I don't understand how dsl ppoe works...Usually with cable i just
hookup the hub to the cable modem and hook all the other stuff up and
off it goes getting a ip via dhcp.
This doesnt seem to be the case here.
I will give it one more try just in case it was some sort of fluke.
Should it work just like cable where i just login and off it goes?

Are you sure those are pure "hubs" (ie repeats to all ports) or are
they switches? Plain "dumb" hubs are getting rare to find nowadays.
