Pepperpickles,

Before I answer a question that has been answered by a commenter...

Chrisabo points you at correct information, but you will need to dig
your solution out of it. Are you okay with this, or would you like a
boiled-down answer with removal instructions?

BTW, Xupiter's uninstall will likely *not* do it for you.

i would suggest consulting these previous answers from the Google
Answers service. They all provide the methods to remove Xupiter from
your system. i found these answers by searching in the Google Answers
archive with "Xupiter" and "delete" or "remove" as my search terms.

The xupiter.com website has an FAQ which includes uninstall
instructions. I don't know how well it works however. I've had my own
problems with xupiter, as have QUITE A LARGE NUMBER of other innocent
bystanders. It's causing a major nuisance to many people, who appear
to have a variety of different problems with it. My own quirky
annoyance has been that, when I do a Google search, if I click on a
search result, if that page is unavailable, instead of the usual,
normal message saying "page cannot be displayed", I instead get a
brand new xupiter page which says the same thing, but it also proceeds
to load a pop-up ad, and my back button becomes disabled.

Others have had their own weird happenings. Things such as:
uncontrollable self generating random words entered into their search
engine fields, and even forcible redirection from desired web
addresses to the xupiter site. Whoever is responsible at xupiter for
all this ought to be strung up by their 'nads.
