I'd like to get a list of major consumer retailers with Headquarters
or home offices based in New York City.

According to Chainstore Age, of the top 100 retailers in 2001, there
are only two headquartered in New York City, those being Barnes and
Noble and Foot Locker.  You can see the entire list at

Another listing by the National Retail Federation lists Tiffany in
their top 100, along with Barnes and Noble and Foot Locker, as a major
retailer headquartered in New York.  This listing can be found at
