Uriel Jones was a Motown drummer. He toured with the various Motown
acts until 1964, when he became their studio sessions drummer, along
with Benny Benjamin. He then was a Funk Brother. He was born in
Detroit,MI in 1934. He is still alive and appears in their recent
film, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, as one of the 6 surviving

Hello Rainbow,                                                        
         It is my pleasure to meet you.  I want to thank you very much
for looking at my questions.  You may tell Uriel for me that I am
assembling a website that I intend to call Memorial Website, dedicated
to sports and entertainment figures.  I wish to acknowlege those who
do not ordinarily receive acknowlegement.  Such as the Funk Brothers,
Brill Building songwriters, deceased rock musicians, and 2,500 others.
It's also to honor the past generation whom the present are
forgetting.  And Uriel fits the bill in all respects.  I honor him,
with or without his birthdate.  You may also ask him if he can get me
the birthdates of his fellow Funk Brothers, Joe Messina, Jack Ashford,
Bob Babbit, Dennis Coffey, David Hamilton, and the death date & yr. of
deceased Funk Brother drummer Benny Benjamin.  I also hope I can keep
your interest, Rainbow.  Regardless of whether a question is
"expired", I will repost, if necessary, and credit you.  That's a

         I am very happy at your news.  But I must be balanced and not
get elated until we receive our information.  I'm still waiting for
information concerning Rennie Harris, Mary Ann Ganser, and Martha
Lasker from researchers whose contacts have seemingly forgotten about
us.  But I'm still happy to have a shot at getting my information.  So
I am very happy to hear your news, rainbow! I could use your
initiative, resourcfulness and tenacity.  Please feel welcome to
tackle any or all my collection, expired or not.  Incidently, if Uriel
comes back with birthdates from other Funk Bros., I'll tip you

I received a response from the message I mentioned in my
clarification.
Paul Elliott of Elliott Scott Productions, LLC was the man who sent me
the response and asked me the reasons for this request. Following is
the last reply I received from him:

'Uriel's birthdate is June 13, 1934.  He asked me to "Please thank you
for considering me in your efforts"
Have you also contacted Allan Slutsky on this?  Allan will probably be
your best source of information.
