Hello charllee-ga,
Can you tell me more about the poster? I need some way to know if I'm
looking at the right poster if I run across it.
Is it an action shot or a portrait? Do the names of the sponsors
appear on the poster (large print, small print, top, bottom, etc.)? Is
there any other text or something unique that would make it diffent
from other posters?
I couldn't find anything on Michael Edsey. Are you sure that's the
correct spelling of his name?
Thanks,

Hi googlnut-ga,
It is a poster of a portrait by Michael Edsey, that is spelled out
under the portrait, Edsey's signature is Edsey c85 (the c is really
the copywrite symbol)
It looks like an oil painting, Payton is holding his helmet, wearing
the #34 jersey and is wearing a white headband. The background is
done in pastels. It;s a very striking portrait.
I have looked everywhere I know to look on the web and haven't found
anything, hope you have better luck.
The information is at the bottom printed like this, the dashes before
the different items listed are really centered dots:
WALTER PAYTON (is in about 1/2 inch tall letters)
National Football League Career Records Held
-Most rushing attempts -Most rushing touchdowns
-Most yards gained rushing -Most seasons, 1,000 yards or
more,

Walter Payton was born July 25, 1954, in Columbia Mississippi. He was
the fourth player selected in the first round of the 1975 college
player draft. He holds a total of 23 Chicago Bears club career
records.
The sponsors of this commemorative poster have joined in celebration

Sorry, that is not the pose. I don't have a digital camera, sorry.
This pose is facing more forward, standing up holding his helmet. The
shot is a little above the waste with not such a stern look on his
face.

Good news! I haven't found the poster, but I have found the artist.
I've received an e-mail from his wife confirming that her husband is
the artist. She says her husband is at work and will contact me in
the next day or two. I told her what information you are looking for
(how many of the posters were made, what it might be worth, etc.) I
asked if there is some way for you to communicate with the artist
directly. I can't post their e-mail address here without their
permission. Perhaps I could provide them with yours, however, if you
post your e-mail at Google Answers, it is public, so you may not want
to do that.
Let me know what you want to do. I'll let you know when I hear from
them again.

Hello charllee-ga,
The Google Answers editors have removed your clarification, because
you provided your e-mail address. I apologize, I was not supposed to
request it.
Perhaps the artist has a business address or website where you can
contact him.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Hello charllee-ga,
I spoke too soon when I added the comment below. I did hear back from
the artist, Mike Edsey:
"Happy New Year! Couldn't get back to you sooner - too busy. Yes, I'd
prefer that you send me your client's e-mail rather than posting
our's publicly, thanks. I'm not sure how many posters were printed,
but everyone who attended Walter's last home game got one. Walter
Payton was given the painting as part of a ceremony when they
announced the retirement of his number. I was thrilled to be in the
group of people standing on the field. I haven't made any attempt to
find out what a copy of that poster is worth now, tho if it's signed
by Walter that would of course increase it's value.
Cheers-
Mike Edsey"
I have contacted the Google Answers editors to determine if there is
any way, within the terms of service, for me to provide your e-mail
address to Mr. Edsey since it cannot be posted here, that is, if you
would still like to do that.

Hi charllee,
It looks like we won't be able to provide your e-mail address to Mr.
Edsey. However, it sounds like we probably already have all of the
information he knows about the poster.
Would it be acceptable to you for me to post my answer and close out
the question now?
