Dear boobbung-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

The “Sri Guru Granth Sahib” (also known as the “Adi Granth”) is the
scared scripture of the Sikh religion. The “book”, which consists of a
collection of devotional hymns and poetry (by various authors) that
proclaim God. It is also the source of the Sikhs’ moral and ethical
rules for development of the soul, spiritual salvation and unity with
God. It is considered the actual Supreme Spiritual Authority in the
Sikh religion. Sometimes referred to as the “Living Guru” by the
Sikhs, the book itself is held in great reverence and treated with the
utmost respect. The Sikhs do not worship the physical book, but hold
its contents and its message in the highest spiritual regard.
