which word, number, character or search string delivers the highest no
of hits (results) in google? The question is answered if you can beat
the word "the" which delivers 3,270,000,000 hits.

Sorry I had my eyes too glued to the number of zeros!
.. I meant  to say:  you said which 'search string'.
"the" -frwrthgcfdhvdfsgfvgh string invoked an extra 50,000,000 results

Safe-GA, so it seems like Google is using an estimate rather then
calculating the real hits.

I'm pretty sure nothing tops that, but since only someone from Google
can prove it, you won't get an answer to this question.

The 3,320,000,000 results (which are also returned if you search for
"the") are a bit off the chart. What I mean is that if you look at
Google's homepage ( ://www.google.com ) you'll note at the bottom
of the page "©2002 Google - Searching 3,083,324,652 web pages". :o)

In addition to that, I'm pretty convinced that almost half of those
3,083,324,652 web pages are not in English so they almost certainly do
not contain "the".

http only delivers 253000000 hits... dont know why but the game is
just to get the maximum no of hits...
