Question ID: 123754
I need a weblink with sample pictures where a digital camera using the
new foveon photo sensor (www.foveon.com) (such as the Sigma SD9 cam)
is compared to a leading digital cam in the same price range(something
like Canon, or Nikon). There are test pictures out there where the
foveon sensor is compared to a "regular" cam without specifying this
regular cam anyfurther, or there are test pictures out there where the
Sigma is compared to a differently priced model. I dont want this. I
also dont want the Beta-Version of the Sigma or Foveon. I want the
real retail model.
So important is
1) Same price range / and exact model specification
2) Same sample shot
3) no Beta Vesion.

I know how the sensor works and what it does and how it compares
mathmatically to regular Megapixels. What I want is to see for myself
how the sample shots compare and whether this foveon sensor in this
camera is really better then similar priced regular models.

Hello bnc_user-ga

I initially thought Steves Digicams had a pre-production Sigma SD9 but
the samples *are* from a production model
The sample pages contain some similar, though not exactly the same
images as the other SLR sample pages, it at least offers some
comparison.
