I remember seeing a year or two ago either a photograph or a TV clip
that showed a man dying I believe of lung cancer. The photo showed him
smoking in his hospital bed -- and he was smoking through a hole in
his throat from a tracheotomy. I would like to get a copy of that
photo.

I look forward to the ga searchers' usual finding of the impossible.

writer32,

I found a picture of an ant-smoking campaign that shows a woman
smoking through a trach hole. Is this it?

The one I saw I think was a man. Could you get both the man and the
woman for $20????

writer32..

I have been unable to locate a recent photo of a man smoking through a
trach. I found an old postcard picture of a man who was basically a
side show freak smoking through his trach, but I am confident that
isn't what you are looking for. I will keep looking

Just as an update, I still have been unable to locate to particular
picture you are looking for. I have a photo from X-Files of a man
smoking through a trach, but it is not very clear and obviously not
what you are looking for. If you would like me to post the
information about the woman smoking through her trach, let me know.

Please let me know about the woman.

Maybe someone else can come up with the man's picture. I would appreciate it.

The woman's picture is an actual woman who had a trach hole and it
shows her with smoke coming out of the trach.\

What I really meant by my last clarification is that I want you to
send me the info and accept the fee. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

writer32,

Thank you for your question. The photo I have found is of Debi Autin,
a woman who had her larynx removed and breathed through a stoma (hole)
in her throat from a tracheostomy. A traceotomy is the actual
procedure of of making an opening in the windpipe or trachea while a
tracheostomy is the actual hole that is created from the tracheotomy.
Debi had a laryngectomy, or full removal of her larnyx, after being a
3 pack a day smoker for almost 30 years.

Debi Austin appeared in an anti-smoking campaign that was created by
the State of California Department of Health Services in 1996. A very
disturbing picture, it can be found at
http://www2.vhihealthe.com/Imagebank/Debi_Poster.jpg.

Thank you for your question and if you need any additional
clarification, please let me know.

Regards
