ans25....

Thank you for your question regarding shoe widths. Please find below
a chart breakdown of comparable shoe sizes:

Men's Widths

2E = EE / W
3E = EW / EEE / 2W / WW / X
4E = WW / EEEE / EW
5E = EEEEE / XX
6E = EEEEEE

Women's Widths
D = W
2E = WW / EW / XW / EE / X
4E = EEEE / XX

Being that you did not mention whether your were male or female. I
did also find references to XW for men's shoes as well as being
equivilant to 2E.

So, to answer your question: No, XW is not wider than 3E.

Thank you for your question. If you need any additional
clarification, please let me know.

Regards,

-THV

I am sorry you were confused regarding the chart, however, you asked
about size XW, not EW. EW for women's shoes is equivialant to 2E and
XW. In men's shoes, EW is equivalant to 4E.

Hope this helps.

GOOD ANSWER, BUT A LITTLE CONFUSING. RESEARCHER PROVIDED TWO CHARTS.
ONE STATED MEN'S WIDTH SHOE SIZE EW, CAN ALSO BE EXPRESSED AS 2E AND
CHART TWO, INDICATES EW IS ALSO EXPRESSED AS 4E. GUESS I WILL HAVE TO
CONTACT SHOE MFG. TO DETERMINE HOW THE RATE EW.
