I am interested in finding out what tyoe of salaries are standard for
the position of CHEF for a state's GOVERNOR in the US.  I have
searched every possible combination of
NewMexico&Chef&Governor&staff&private&personal&household&staff&salary...

I think this information is public record, but I am unable to come up
with anything. Please help.

Hello gus8-ga,

I think I’ve found the answer for you. The New Mexico State Personnel
Board published the civil service pay schedule online. It shows that
there are three levels of Chefs and Head Cooks. I’ve also included the
contact information for the New Mexico State Personnel Office so that
you can contact them for further information about the pay rate for
the governor’s chef. I also found an article that talks about the
trend to governor’s chefs all over the country.

I appreciate your effort.  Seems I got my $10-worth.  However...I
downloaded all the links with no luck.  I guess I am unable to receive
some formats.  I know that i get Jpegs just fine...but however the
answers were sent to me, I m unable to open :-(  Let me know if I am

I'm sorry you're having difficulties opening the page. I suggest you

Click on the first item -- Classification and Pay Schedule
This takes you to a document that's in .pdf format. Click on Family
Group and Pay Schedules from the Bookmarks on the left. Chefs are on
page 5 of the document.

If you don't have an Acrobat reader you will have to download it to be
able to look at the .pdf document.
You can get it for free from Adobe at

Click on the Download Reader button near the top right of the page.
