Biloxi PET: How many PET (Positron Emission Tomography) facilities are
located within 100miles of Biloxi Mississippi -AND- what is the name
of each?  PET is rapidly becoming a major diagnostic imaging modality
used predominantly in determining the presence and severity of
cancers, neurological conditions, and cardiovascular disease. It is
currently the most effective way to check for cancer recurrences.
Studies demonstrate that PET offers significant advantages over other
forms of imaging such as CT or MRI scans in diagnosing disease. Last
year more than 200,000 PET scans were performed at more than 700 sites
around the country.

This answer had to go a bit wider geographically than 100 miles,
because the centers and providers are mainly shown on very regional
lists.

Here is a list of all the approved Pet scanner sites, including mobile
services for the state of Mississippi.  This came from a wonderful
woman I called at the Mississippi Department of Health who happened to
have this list on her desktop:

As far as PET centers in the 100 mile radius of Biloxi, there aren't
too many near by, so I've included all the centers in Louisiana and
the single one in Alabama.  I could not find one in the western
