Please suggest a good solution for software capturing of VCD,SVCD,DVD
formats.(PAL not NTSC!)
(Not "Ulead DVD Workshop!)

Hi, 

Adobe Premiere 6 is very good for editing. It does have a learning
curve but it is flexible and works well provided the computer is set
up properly.

Some companies bundle video capture cards with software. Matrox is a
good example, it bundles the RT.X10 video capture card with Adobe
Premiere 6 software.

For video editing, unless you are a die-hard Mac user, do yourself a
BIG favor and get Vegas Video.  I just spent the last 4 weeks doing
intensive due dilligence on this.  Do a Google search yourself and
read the reviews.  It is a stronger package than any of the others AND
easier to use.  It does not burn to DVD but you can add this on
easily.  Good luck.
