I have my doubts that Ruth Ann Schabacker was a real person, or at least that she was the originator of this saying. The only references to her seem to be in connection with this quotation. The same is true for some other supposed originators of quotations. See my comment on: "Q: Who said it first?" Google Answers https://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=123060 I have the feeling that someone thought that a certain relative or acquaintance had originated the quote, and thus attributed it to that person; then other people assumed that this attribution was correct. Or, worse yet, someone simply made up the name. I hope that I'm wrong -- I'd be interested in the answer to this question myself! |
