Hi there, This information comes from the "how to contact" page at the California Department of Corrections. http://www.cdc.state.ca.us/inside/howtocontact.htm Phone Contact ------------- You need to write to the person and give them your phone number: "Most inmates have access to telephones and can initiate outgoing collect calls. When corresponding with an inmate, individuals may provide a telephone number where an inmate can call them collect. It is up to the inmate to initiate the call. Phone calls are limited to 15 minutes." Written Contact --------------- "Individuals are free to contact any state prison inmate by mail. Incoming letters are opened and inspected for contraband and then forwarded to the inmate." Address your letter to: Inmates full name, CDC# Salinas Valley State Prison P.O. Box 1050, Soledad, CA 93690-1050 To get the CDC number for any Salinas Valley inmate, phone the Public Information Officer at (831) 678-5554.
