Could you please clarify what you mean by who is George E. Miller? Are
you looking for biographical information not related to his theories?
Are you interested in finding out if he is still active in the field
or if he is retired?

husaro --

I have found published professional and educational biographical
information on a person who is nearly certain to be the "George E.
Miller" you are looking for. Unfortunately, I have not been able to
find on-line information that conclusively establishes him as the
creator of the "pyramid of competence" concept. I have sent an
e-mail, which I will follow up with a phone call if necessary
tomorrow, which should confirm that connection.

If another researcher does not nail this down for you before tomorrow,
I expect to be able to do so then.

Dear husaro,

George E. Miller, MD, was the founder of the Department of Medical
Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of
Medicine.

He died on November 7, 1998 at the age of 79 (b. 1919).

A full biographical details on him, as an obituary, could be found at
the DME Bulletin, Vol. 5, No. 3 (May 99) -
http://www.uic.edu/com/mcme/bulletins/v5n3/miller.htm

I hope that answered your question. I have used many search terms, as
there are, apparently, several "George E. Miller"-s among us )and
another one is also an MD). I mostly used the combination of the name,
with the field expertise (clinical skills, medical education, etc.).
If you need any clarification on this answer, please contact me - I'd
be pleased to clarify my answer before you rate it.
