While I won't rule it out, I suspect finding such a service will be difficult. For one, the RIAA overzealously protects copyrighted works (to the extent of claiming copyright on works it has no title to) and scares many potential vendors of such a service. For another, the cost of bandwidth to reasonably send your mp3s to a company quickly exceeds the cost of a CD burner (about $20 for a cheap one) and software (free, or up to about $100, depending on your choice) to make the CD yourself. Not only that, sending you back the CD would cost money, perhaps $0.50, which further favors the do it yourself method. Or have a friend do it. Could you perhaps explain, if I haven't discouraged you already, what application you have in mind which would make economic sense from both your perspective and that of someone providing the service? |

Thank you haversian-ga for your enlightening comments. There is no economic advantage. I was simply looking for a service, not unlike a photolab, that I could send my choice of MP3s to and they would burn the CD and mail it to me. Your comments make sense ... but for someone who would only need a CD occasionally a service like the one I am looking for would save the time to acquire, learn & burn. I appreciate the time that you took to post! Brudenell |
