Can my TV (Sony KV-HS500) be used as a DVI monitor for my PC. (Will it
work?) The manual specifically says that it is not for use with PC's

I have heard that the DVI input is only for use with home-theater
specific devices such as set-top Broadcast HDTV decoders. The port in
question is labelled as a "DVI-HDTV IN".

I would prefer this route than buying an ati card and the ati hdtv
adapter. (that makes vga or dvi-a into component)
