carmi604,

Are you sure the reference you are attempting to translate is not to a
burial for someone with the last name of "Hocker"?

Dear carmi604-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

The phrase you are asking about pertains to an ancient form of burial
wherein the deceased is buried sitting upright with the knees tucked
up against the chest and the feet parallel with the floor as if seated
on it’s posterior. This is referred to as the “hocker position”.

The links below make several references to this position as used in
ancient burial practices. I have carefully defined my search strategy
so you can repeat it if necessary in order to discover additional
information.

I hope you find that that my research exceeds your expectations. If
you have any questions about my research please post a clarification
request prior to rating the answer. I welcome your rating and your
final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for using Google Answers.

Best regards;
Tutuzdad-ga

Dear Tutuzdad-ga,
Your answer does indeed exceed my expectation. I tried many reference
sources in vain. Thank you so much. I hope the search itself , sort
of intellectual sleuthing, gave you some satisfaction, too.
