Which countries, companies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)
were
delegates to the August 2002 Earth Summit in Johannesburg, South

three or four NGO names, but a more complete list would be helpful.)

pauld..

Thank you for your question. The Earth Summit, officially called The
United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, or UNCED,
was first held in 1992 in Rio DiJaneiro, Brazil. This year, the event
was held in Johannesburg, South Africa from August 26th through
September 4th.

There were 20,000 United Nations-accredited delegates, made up of
5,000 government delegates from the 189 UN member states, observer
states and the United Nations and 10,000 delegates representing the
nine Major Groups also accredited to the Civil Society Global Forum.

I believe I had actually asked which countries, companies and NGOs
were OFFICIAL EUROPEAN (EU) delegates to the Johannesburg summit.
Would you please clarify your answer, to the extent possible, by
limiting it to just a few companies and nongovernmental organizations
that were OFFICIAL EU DELEGATES? I would be happy if you could provide
just two or three within each of these two categories. Thank you.
