Question ID: 125723
I have two computers and one printer:
One computer is old, and has only a parallel port.
The new notebook computer, has only a USB port.
The printer is an old HP.

Is there a converter device?
Can an A/B switch be used, with a converter device?

How can these 2 computers be hooked to 1 printer?

Would you be willing to look at the possibility of a USB-to-parallel
converter cable going into a switch box? Also, do you have drivers
for the printer that will run on both machines?

I need to ask my son about, "do you have drivers
for the printer that will run on both machines".
It will take me a day to get his answer.

Some more questions:

1) how old is "old" when referring to the old HP? What model is it?

2) How old is "old" when referring to the old computer? What model is
it, and what version of Windows is it running?

3) What version of Windows is on the notebook?

4) If the cost is low enough, would you consider a couple of pieces of
hardware as a solution? Do you have a budget to keep in mind when
forming the solution?

I am withdrawing my question.
I need to find more information about print drivers, and the age of the equipment.
I will repost the question after I learn more about the computers, and the printer.
I want to thank everyone for the comments.
