This is a WIN 98 system running on a Dell 3500 Inspiron. The following
error message pops up as a window when attempting to print and also
appears several times during any application session. The panel title
is "HP LASERJET DIRECTOR ERROR". In the panel the following is
displayed with a large red X circled. "Device Communication Error"
"Unable to add entry to the device's control panel". I have reloaded
the drivers for this printer from the mfg's CD for the 1100. That did
not fix this problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Sondej, 

I just have a few questions to clarify what the problem might be:

When did this issue first occur?  


Was there ever a time that the issue did not appear?  If so, do you remember
anything that changed such as moving the printer or installing new software?


Does this issue occur when printing from all software applications?


Does the issue occur every time or is it intermittent?

If you can answer these questions, we can fix the problem.
