I am ready to buy a new fax machine. The antique that I use was the
first one (I think ) that Canon ever produced. The quality of
transmission and reception leaves much to be desired.

I just want to fax, lots of stuff to lots of people. I will be
receiving lots of faxes as well.

I would like to know what are the really good fax machines out there
for clarity of transmission and reception and then what are the better
prices.

I do not need other "whistles and bells". 
I do not need the absolute best, as often a very good fax machine can
be $100's less.
Three names and make and model would do me just fine to start shopping
around.

Answers helped me out before when I was looking for a new printer. I
got one and am just really pleased with it!!
