Hello bj1234:

Thanks for the interesting question.

I was able to find very reliable statistics on total fossil fuel
comsumption for the countries you mentioned at the United States
Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration, Office of
Energy Markets and End Use:

Main Products of the Office of Energy Markets and End Use
http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/

They have a comprehensive Country Energy Balance page for each
country, which lists how much fuel each country uses, produces,
imports, exports, etc. (broken down by fuel type). These pages also
list natural gas, coal, and electricity consumption.

To find energy information about a specific country, go to

http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/international/contents.html

and use the country drop-down menu.

So, for the countries you listed above, the data (and pages) are:

Poland:
Total Consumption = 441,080 barrels/day
URL: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/world/country/cntry_PL.html

Bulgaria:
Total Consumption = 97,260 barrels/day
URL: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/world/country/cntry_BU.html

Greece:
Total Consumption = 399,300 barrels/day
URL: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/world/country/cntry_GR.html

Denmark:
Total Consumption = 215,070 barrels/day
URL: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/world/country/cntry_DA.html

While this data is for 2000, the numbers today shouldn't be much
different. The following page gives a very good synopsis of energy
consumption forecasts for the next 25 years:

Early Release of the Annual Energy Outlook 2003
http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/index.html#consumption

Overall energy consumption is set to increase 1.5%/year. So, if you
wanted to "update" the above figures, you could increase the values by
about 3%.

I hope that this information has been of help in your search.

Hi bj1234:

With regard to the comment by rapidreference. The figures I have
quoted above are indeed for oil-based fuels only. The pages I have
listed do, however, also contain other fossil fuel totals.
Unfortunately, fuels such as coal and natural gas are not typically
measured in barrels/day.

IF you want me to attempt to convert the non-barrel fuel types to
their barrel-based energy equivalents, I'd be happy to try to do so.

Please let me know what you'd like (if anything) in a clarification
request.

Thanks.

The totals you quote are misleading. They apply to OIL, not all fossil
fuels (as requested by the customer).
