I need help selecting an MP3 player for myself. I'm looking for a
particular feature that may or may not even exist, and I'm hoping that
someone here can steer me in the right direction. I already have a
digital camera that uses a compact flash card, and I have a card
reader. I prefer to manipulate image files at this level, rather than
plug the camera into my computer's USB port. So I'm looking for an MP3
player that works the same way. I don't want to have to plug the
player into my computer and use some clunky interface to move MP3s
onto the player. I want to just be able to stick a regular old CF card
in the player and press "play", using Windows Explorer to put files on
the card.

So I guess my question is, does this device even exist? Most seem to
have onboard flash memory. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi there,

I've found a MP3 player that uses removable Compact Flash cards, and
any files (including MP3s of course) can be transfered to the cards
without the player being present.

Moveman SSP-100
---------------

"The Moveman is CompactFlash card based, and accepts both Type I and
Type II cards. It also includes a nifty key lock function to inhibit
any buttons from accidental activation when in use. Use the Moveman to
transfer other files as well, like text files, image files,
applications, etc.

This version of the Moveman SSP100 ships with the Moveman Memory
Manager for Windows. This application provides an easy interface on
your PC to transfer files to and from your Moveman, as well as set
playlist order."

Thanks, Robert. That little unit seems to be exactly what I was
looking for. I ordered one from the-discount-shop.com just now.
