Ken Keltner is one of the all-time greatest studio sessions drummers.
He has worked a great deal with most of the British veteran rock
stars.  I need his date & yr. of birth. His yr. alone will not be
enough. He got started in the late 60's, so his birthdate would be
somewhere around 1950.

I'm guessing you mean Jim - not Ken - Keltner. He's one of the most
prolific drummers ever, and has played with everyone from Charlie
Watts to Neil Young. I haven't yet been able to find his birthday,
partly because he's all over the Net as "having played with", but not
with personal information. Please confirm the name, though.

         You must please forgive my error.  You are absolutely
correct. I DO know his name but am posting too quickly and my spelling
suffers.  He is indeed Jim Keltner.  He was born in Tulsa,OK.He did
the early work for Gary Lewis & the Playboys.  He's one of the most
in-demand session drummers, and rates with Steve Gadd(Steely
Dan,everyone else), Hal Blaine(everyone,Phil Spector's Wrecking
Crew,Brian Wilson's Beach Boys), Bill Bruford(Yes), Jeff Porcaro(Toto)
and Greg Bissonette.  These drummers were considered the upper echelon
of drumming gods of the recording studios.  bluestreak

I've been unable to turn up anything on the web regarding Jim
Keltner's date of birth, but I have noted in an online phonebook that
there is a Jim Keltner who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Considering the
rarity of the name, I wouldn't be overly surprised if it was the man
himself. As you may know, Google Answers Researchers are prohibited
from providing personal information, but in the event that no other
researcher turns up his details, you could make a call to Information
and request the address to write to - you never know, you may strike
lucky.

It seems that Jim Keltner, drummer is James D. Keltner, and lives now
or used to in Tulsa,OK 74135 and was born around 1949. I hope that is
useful to finding his birthday

I'm at a dead end with this one, I'm afraid. I do believe that his
middle name is David, however, and you are correct that he was born in
1949.

         Don't be discouraged yet.  Thanks to your fruitful tip about
him still being in Tulsa, I was able to obtain his phone number.  I
will call him and try to get his date of birth and whatever
particulars he cares to share, if any.  So if I am sucessful in my
efforts, you will receive credit for a sucessful answer, of course. 
I'll let you know how I do. And you're right.  I was able to find his

Today I spoke with James David Keltner of Tulsa,OK 74135. Wrong guy. 
He says he gets a lot of the famous Jim Keltner's fan mail, phone
calls, etc. Back to scratch. I'm sorry, guys.  bluestreak
