Hi there,
When Google has two URLs for the same content, the rationale behind
which site it returns in the search results is hard to understand.
I've followed a few discussions on this previously, without getting a
certain answer. It is commonly thought that the URL with the most
links to it is the one which will come up, but in your case this isn't
it.
I do know how to solve your dilemna.
1) At voodooobeat.com create a text file called robots.txt and put
this in it:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
This tells search engine robots like the GoogleBot to ignore this
site.
More info about excluding robots:
http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/exclusion-admin.html
2) Resubmit the URLs of both sites to Google:
By doing this, all visitors will still be redirected from
voodoobeat.com to iqbeats.com, but voodoobeat.com will disappear from
Google's index at either the next update (late December) or the one
after (late January).
Flash and Google
----------------
Google does not index any content within Flash files at this time. If
you wish to receive more visitors from Google searches, you need to
create some non-Flash content. One option is to use voodoobeat.com and
create a HTML version of IQBeats there, with a link to iqbeats.com for
those that prefer Flash. The other option is to have a splash page at
iqbeats.com which simply asks whether visitors want to proceed to the
Flash or non-Flash version of the site.
Best wishes,
