Dear stapes-ga It is still $11000 A search at the IRS site does not reveal any changes to the rule. http://www.irs.gov "Gifts of up to $11,000 can be made during 2002 and the following years to an individual without incurring a gift tax. If the gift is made by a married couple from their jointly owned assets, it can be as much as $22,000 without being taxed." http://www.ca-trusts.com/fet.html This is also confirmed on the HR Block 2003 Tax Facts at: http://www.hrblock.com/presscenter/presskit/estate/new_amount/facts.html and http://www.mbscott.com/collsav.htm Do not hesitate to ask for clarification of this research or if the links do not work. answerfinder-ga Search strategy "annual gift tax exemption" 2003 ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22annual+gift+tax+exemption%22+2003 "gift tax exemption" 2003 ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22gift+tax+exemption%22+2003 |
