Hello: I contacted US Census Bureau for your question. You can get a summary of your desired question from them. They are located at http://www.census.gov While doing an independent research for your question I found at there are few statistics available for the other three groups except Puerto Ricans. Don't be surprised to know that the population of people who specified themselves of Venezuelan, Columbian or Argentinean Origin were very low in the US 2000 Census. In many cases there were only about 1000 people in certain states that you specified. Nevertheless you can get your data from the US Census Bureau who can provide you with details. SO what did I find? I was able to acquire extensive study of the US population for Puerto Ricans for every state (US Census 2000). My findings are located at http://www.nd.edu/~iuplr/cic/origins_html/5.html. Another study is located at http://www.nd.edu/~iuplr/cic/his_org_9-02/4.htm. Now what about the other three groups? Thanks to the Inter University Program for Latin Research at Notre Dame University, you can get a lot of information about the demographics of these groups state by state. A study of your interest is located at http://www.nd.edu/~iuplr/cic/origins_html/2.html. Also check out the other topics of interest at http://www.nd.edu/~iuplr/cic/index.html If you want to look at a sample of summary you will get from the Census Bureau on the origins of different nationalities state by state, you can look at http://www.provplan.org/cen2000/tables/hispdetail_trct.pdf. A report for the release of findings of data for Connecticut is located at http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/2002/cb02cn07.html (these are just to let you know that you can get the summaries from the US Census Bureau. You can also get a product list from the Census Bureau. A sample of product is located at http://www.census.gov/population/www/censusdata/c2kproducts.html A useful listing of some of the major organizations committed to the kind of research you are seeking is located at http://www.nd.edu/~iuplr/ Useful Search Terms. 'US population by origin' 'Hispanic population by state' 'New York Census Data' ( Replace with state of interest ) 'Origins of Latino population' 'Latino Demographics' 'Hispanic Demographics' Hope the information will help you. Please clarify if you have further questions. I will be happy to work with you. Thank You for asking. Sincerely, leader-ga |
