You'll need to identify your motherboard in order to
find the correct BIOS upgrade. A page on AMIBIOS,com
explains how to do this:
http://www.ami.com/support/bios.html

Once you've identified the motherboard, if you still
need help, post it in a clarification, and we'll
pinpoint the BIOS you need.

The page also notes:

"NOTE: If you have a identification number that
corresponds to a NON-AMI motherboard you will
need to contact the company or person who sold
 you the product."

Unfortunately, a search of the Hewlett-Packard site,
for your model of computer, comes up empty. So, if
your motherboard is not a TRUE AMI board, you may
be unable to identify an appropriate BIOS upgrade.

Sorry - I meant to say I searched the Packard Bell
site, and found no support for your model 3960CD.

The numbers you located don't tell me anything,
especially without support from Packard Bell.

Please try downloading the motherboard identification
utility (AMIMBID) from this page, and see what it
tells you about whether you board is TRUE AMI:
http://www.ami.com/support/mbid.html

The fact that your board was made in Malaysia
does not bode well, methinks.

I can't find the BIOS you are looking for. The only BIOS I found that
mentions BCOR BIOS is this:

Description:	PB520R BIOS
Item Number:	REFBIOS00100200
Entry Date:	26 Nov 1997
Version:	1.00.09BC0R
Operating System:OS independent
Applies to:	BIOS
http://support.packardbell-europe.com/support/download/itemnr/REFBIOS00100200.asp?c=ap

I doubt that this is of help to you but I'm posting it here for you
and other researchers to know where I looked.

Yes, contacting Packard Bell is definitely the next
step. I have come to believe that the BIOS in feilong's
comment, above, may be the one you are looking for,
however, it is extremely unwise to attempt to use it
without verification from Packard Bell that it is the
correct one. If they are unable to ascertain this for
you, you 'could' take a chance with it, but it would
be risky to do so. Let us know how it turns out.
