Question ID: 126764
I am trying to efficiently publish some business databases (business
directories) on CD Rom, and am currently looking for sources for XML
development of these directories in the Indian subcontinent. Target
contacts would help in building the CD’s interface and database and
prepare the software for replication, especially for handling modules
like…
1.	XML development
2.	Database Encryption module
3.	Advanced Search & Category-based search/listing
4.	Exporting functions

Who are the best sources/companies who could help me to build the
business-directory-CD’s?
What sources can I use to independently evaluate the quality of each
source before committing to project?

I'd just like to ask, since you mentioned India, are you there right
now? I also wonder if you'd prefer companies whose offices are close
to your area, or just companies with an easily found online presence.

Hi techtor...

It's me again! Thanks for your efforts for helping me find the BD
resources. GA doesn't allow change the user name so I had to make a
new ID that I will be using from now on.

To answer your questions:
1- I am not in India but many of my previous contracts were with
Indian businesses.
2- Location doesn't matter. All of the taks could be handled remotely,
and mostly done this way for previous contracts.

Thanks in advance...

me and Easterangel. I can't guarantee a definite answer, it's pretty
tough, but I'll see what I can find. Thanks.

Hello:

I am writing to you because I have extensive experience in working
with the businesses in the Indian Sub-continent. In the sub-continent,
I think India is the only country where you can find extensive help in
software development and other IT technologies.

I have reviewed your requirements and I am listing some of the top
quality companies that can work with you to get your project done.
Another thing that I have kept in mind is that most of the businesses
that I am mentioning have the ability to manage remote contacts.

Since, India is a third world country that is trying hard to establish
its economy, it is difficult to find any independent institution that
judges the quality or credibility of different companies. Although I
have tried to list only the very reliable sources, I will suggest you
to contact the businesses yourself and choose wisely.

Hi Leaders,

Thanks for your help, but I was expecting a little more information on
companies that can handle producing CD-Rom applications and databases.
Some of the companies you have kindly referred are for development of
online portals and applications.

It would help if you can help me with the companies that can handle
project involving the development of multimedia/database applications
that can be produced in CD format, as it is very different from the
handling online- or intranet-projects, especially for the following:
- Installation/Compatibility
- XML development & portability of data
- Database Encryption & protection
- Controlled exporting functions

Thank you…

Hello:

Sorry for being late. Actually I wasn't getting any answeres from the
authorities that I contacted. I therfore, had to call them directly.
The Department of science and technology in India has given me the
names of two companies which might be what you need. The great thing
is that they both have a website.

http://www.lumenphon.com/

http://www.mizpahpublishing.com/

If still you need help or find that the companies might not fulfill
your requirements than please contact me and I will try to get answers
as quickly as possible because I know that the expiration date is
near.
Thanks again for remaining in contact. I will work with you to find
the required resources.

Sincerely,
leader-ga
Reason this answer was rejected by octopia-ga:
My question was on the development companies in the Indian
subcontinents who can help me publish my databases (or business
directories) on CD Roms. The researcher misunderstood the question as
providers of web solutions and general IT companies, and posted the
answer directly without asking for any clarifications. I requested a
clarification to the answer, which took around two weeks of following
up to be posted. After checking the resources provided in the
clarification, they still did not my question because I discovered
that the new information was on developers multimedia- (vs. database-)
CD-based applications.

I would like to repost my question, because I am not sure that the
same research can help me. Nonetheless, I am sure that others in
Google Answers would.
