weebles,

A Researcher (if they know your state/country of residence) can point
you to the appropriate laws and precedents for this subject. However,
any legal fight will need to be tailored to your specific situation,
involving dozens of variables that will be evaluated by a judge,
including: How old are you? How much money do you make? How physically
fit are you? In what sort of home do you live? What is your lifestyle?
What are the personalities of the children? What sort of life
experience have they had? etc.,etc.

For something of this serious and important a nature, you really need
to contact an attorney. They will be able to tell you about the
relevant laws and precedents, and they will be able to work with you
to obtain the Answers to all the Questions I mentioned, as well as
figuring out how those Answers apply to your situation.

Your chances of obtaining custody of your grandchildren will depend
entirely on the quality of your legal fight. You will want to use the
best resources you are able to afford. If you cannot afford to pay an
Attorney, there are Legal Aid organizations in many cities who will
provide an Attorney for you at reduced or no charge.

Best Wishes!

Hi weebles-ga,

The previous comment is exactly what you need. Once a child is in the
system it can be difficult to regain custody without legal assistance.

... or, if you are based in the UK, try the Community Legal Service
website at http://www.justask.org.uk , or look in your Yellow Pages
for solicitors that deal with Childcare
