In the scooby doo movie one of the characters had a dead arnucky beast
(I don't know if I spelled it correctly) that he was going to use to
ward off evil. It looked like a shrunken head with a small wooden
skeleton like body that rattled around. I would like to find a site
where I can buy one or something similar to what was in the movie.

Hi Scoobyfan,

I was looking around for this item, but couldn't find anywhere to buy
it. If you are interested in other Scooby Doo movie merchandise, you
might find http://www.toys-and-merchandise.com/scooby_doo_merchandise.php
useful.

Hey Scoobyfan,

I'm not sure about the word "Arnucky", but think what you are looking
for are Voodoo dolls. All the sites I looked at for the movie while
trying to find a word close to "Arnucky" suggest that the character
you mention was "supposed" to have been using Voodoo, so that was how
I directed my search. Anyway, from my recollection of the movie, the
following dolls are at least similar.

Here are some slightly expensive, but very authentic dolls from the
Voodoo Cultural Center of New Orleans:
http://www.folkart.com/voodooshop/dolls.htm

The homepage for the above site is also very worthwhile for other
Voodoo related stuff like incense and such:
http://www.folkart.com/voodooshop/

A slightly bigger selection, (I think), of the same high-quality
dolls, but a much larger site with more general information is:
http://www.voodooshop.com/products/dolls/index.html

This site also has a glossary of Voodoo terms, a FAQ on Voodoo, and
interesting "hex signs" on this page:
http://www.voodooshop.com/voodoo/index.html

Much cheaper dolls can be found at the following site. They may not
be as authentic as the dolls in the above pages, but for the price,
you might have enough left over to offer an acceptable bribe if the
doll failed to ward off the evil:
http://www.mardigrasbeadconnection.com/voodoo.htm

If these aren't what you were looking for, please let me know and I'll
see what else I can find for you.

As a postscript, my daughter, who saw the movie with me, just came in
and said that *she* thought what they said in the movie was that it
was a "Dead, unlucky beast." For what it's worth... ;-)
