in the game of hockey, what does "cycling" mean?

Hi,

Thank you very much for your question. In the game of Hockey, the term
'Cycling' means:

"...an offensive strategy used to keep control of the puck by keeping
it close the boards. Offensive players make short passes to each other
along the boards until they see an opening to pass to a teammate who
is moving into the slot for a shot..."

Another way of looking at it is:
"Cycling: A balanced rotation of players in the offensive zone to
maintain puck control and create offensive options."
