I'm looking for examples of products/services that saw rapid sales growth/adoption because the manufacturer/provider changed default settings or configurations to make a product more user friendly. I want to be able to support statements like this: "XYZ product was on the market for quite a while and didn't sell. Then, the company made a simple change to the user interface that made the product much easier to use/configure. This led to rapid adoption." Key themes I am trying to capture are reducing complexity, pre-configuration, reduding barriers to adoption. Three or four tangible examples of well known products/services would be great. |

Hi wheels, I was intrigued by your question and put in some time on it, as I'm sure several other researchers did as well. I finally had to give up because I had only found one example that might be useful to you, but I thought I'd pass that one along (it's about some very successful changes Toyota made to their small pickup trucks to make them more palatable to the American market): http://www.brian894x4.com/Hiluxdifferences.html Best of luck, ericynot-ga |
