What is the best way to get a ticketing and data distribution systems management role within primarily australian, canadian or american railways but possibly elsewhere worldwide? I am 33 yrs old and work within the UK rail industry. I am responsible for budget and contract management of the suppliers' service delivery of a £15.3m pa ticketing and distribution systems portfolio supplied to UK rail companines. Services include fares, timetable information and central reservations systems, integrated rail journey information service (used by UK web services) and hardware maintenance support of 8000 ticket issuing machines across 2000 locations. I have been involved in the operational specification of replacement systems, have led negotiations on all of the current contracts and have a detailed understanding of UK distribution, ticketing and rail industry settlement systems. |

Hi there, Our search returned the following results: CANADA The following is a link to a job listing site for all major Canadian railway companies (broken down by company): http://www.trainscan.com/job/jobs_o.html Some information regarding the transportation industry in Canada: http://www.jobs.net/locations/ca/transportation.html USA This is a job site for positions within the railway industry in the USA, Europe, and Asia: http://www.railjobs.com/ CareerLink (RailRoad) - A large listing of openings across the USA with several companies. Individual listings are extremely detailed! http://www.careerlink.org/field/019/0043/ While this site has limited job listings itself, there are a multitude of links pointing to individual company job opening pages (yellow column): http://thebecketts.com/beckettsdepot/hot.html AUSTRALIA "if you're looking for that ideal rail industry job to help extend your horizons then this site is for you!" Note this site lists jobs in US, Europe, Asia, Australia http://www.railpersonnel.com/ The best way to find the type of position that you are seeking is simply to visit the above mentioned sites and apply to all those that you qualify for and would want to take. Unfortunately there is little leeway when it comes to filtering results for the exact type of job you want but in many cases you can choose a category to narrow it down a bit. If you need a clarification on any of this information, i would be happy to provide one. Hope this helps! Chico |
