"Boudu sauve des eaux" or "Boudu Saved from Drowning", a 1932 French
film directed by Jean Renoir, was written by Rene Fauchois and Jean
Renoir.  It's a comedy in which Boudu, a tramp, jumps into the Seine. 
He is rescued by Mr. Lestingois, etc, etc.  In it are: Michel Simon,
Charles Granval, Marcelle Hainia, Severine Lerczinska, Jean Gehret,
Max Dalban, Jean Daste, Jane Pierson, etc.  The International Movie
Database refers one to Amazon, yet Amazon does not have the film.  If
someone finds this film, it will of course have been used, so I'd want
to be careful it isn't in such bad condition that it makes watching it
a trial.  It's to be a gift for a dear sister-in-law who speaks
French, who has visited France many times, and who will delight in
having the film as part of her library.
