Was the site you saw in English, German, or both?

I don't think that I've found the site that you saw, but I did find a
similar one. It appears to include all players in the 1. Bundesliga
since 1963/1964 and the 2. Bundesliga since 1997/1998. It lists the
teams for which they played, the years they played for each team, the
number of games in which they appeared in each year, and the number of
goals they scored in each year. You can also click to see the
statistics for each game, so that you can tell if a player was in that
game or not and for how long, among other statistics. You can search
by player name or by team.

Does this site sound sufficient for your needs? If so, I can post an
answer that describes the site in more detail.

Scott..........that sounds like the correct site.

I just wanted to make sure, since the player is not assigned a number,
and you can't look up the player by number. Also, this site does not
tell you immediately the dates that a player was in a game or the
number of minutes that he played; you have to look at each game to
find out. But if you would like me to answer with the site I've found
-- since it sounds like it has the same basic information -- please
let me know.

Scott.......when you are in the site can you look up a player by name
and it will then find him for you so you can see what years he played
and for whom?

Hello elmano-ga,

The site that I have found is called Fussballdaten. The home page is
http://www.fussballdaten.de/ , while specific pages you might want to
use are:

"Bundesliga"
http://www.fussballdaten.de/bundesliga/

"2. Bundesliga"
http://www.fussballdaten.de/zweiteliga/

"Vereine"
http://www.fussballdaten.de/vereine/

The page called "Vereine" is useful if you want to see all of the
teams in the database, or if you want to search by team. You can
reach this page from the home page or from the pages on the 1. and 2.
Bundesliga.

You can search for players from any of these pages.

The pages called "Bundesliga" and "2. Bundesliga" are useful if you
want to focus on a particular season of one of these leagues. (You
can view the seasons for the 2. Bundesliga back to 1974/1975, but you
can only obtain information on the players in this league back to
1997/1998.)

Navigation of the site is fairly straightforward; just click on the
team (to find the team's players), the player (to find a player's
history), "Spiele" or "Tore" (to see the games in a particular team's
season), and the result of a game (to see the statistics for that
game). If you have any difficulties in getting around the site,
please let me know.

I searched on Google and various soccer web sites in order to find
this site, but in the end, the easiest way to find the site would have
been to search on WEB.DE( http://www.web.de ) for "bundesliga", then
click on "1. Bundesliga" under "WEB.DE Angebote", and finally scroll
down to the heading "Fussballdatenarchiv".

Bobbie---the sites you listed give historical data on the teams and
the game scores. What I'm looking for is a site I found in Nov.2001
that listed all the players who had been promoted to the Bundeslige
1st (and 2nd/) Division. Each player was assigned a number and you
could look the person up by name or number. It then told you the dates
they were in and the number of game minutes they had (I guess some
players didn't get in a game for one reason or another). My notes say
the site was "Humaint.com" but that comes up blank.
