I have an HP 960c scanner and a Sony Cyber Shot digital camera.
Whenever I download pictures from my camera, my scanner software
cannot find the scanner next time I try to use it. Could this be a
driver conflict problem? How can I solve?

I made a mistake, the scanner type is an HP 4400c series.

If you are using a USB hub for the scanner, this may happen. Try to
change USB ports.

I'm not too sure of the difference. I'm using the USB plug-ins on the
front of my computer.

I have a different camera and scanner, but the same thing happens to
me. I *think* that the problem is that both the scanner software and
the camera software are using the same chunk of windows code. My
scanner software has an option called "select TWAIN device" and the
options include both the scanner and the camera. After I download
pictures from the camera (using its own software), the TWAIN device
gets set to "camera" and I have to reset it to "scanner" before I can
use the scanner. I don't know any way to "solve" this, I just have to
set the TWAIN device every time I switch between the camera and
scanner.

Hi, I have a Labtec Webcam, Viosioneer Scanner and a Digital camera.
All three drivers are conflicting!! I have searched high and low for a
permanent solution to this problem but as yet no luck. However in my
case I will tell you what i do. I have WinXP. All three drivers seem
to locate themselves in C:Windows/twain32 folder so what i have done
is create a new folder in C:Windows called "drivers" (can be
anything). Then when i want to use a device and not have anything else
interupt it i make sure its driver is the only one in this folder
twain32. The other two i have moved to the "drivers" folder i had
created earlier on. Then if i want to use a different device i just
swap around the drivers. This has worked perfectly everytime, the only
diss-advantage (apart from all the file shuffling) is that you cant
use the three devices at the same time. Might not be much help but its
the best i can do!
