Hello, cyndirir!
Well, you've struck on a weakness of mine...there are few things I
enjoy more than good food and drink (hence my mid-life "course
correction" from sales to cooking).
For all things related to good food and good wine, an excellent
resource is the website of the "Slow Food Movement." This loose-knit
international organization is dedicated to (among other things) the
preservation of traditional foods, beverages, and heirloom crops.
Their wine site provides a wealth of information regarding Italian
wines. If you follow the link below, you will find a list of 55
Tuscan wines, from various producers, rated at "Three Glasses." You
will note that, as Tehuti had indicated, many of them are from the
fabled 1997 vintage (though 1998 is well-represented, as well).
Contact information for these vintners is available on the site as
well.

Search Strategy
I did not search the internet for this answer, as I knew that a
suitable list existed on the "Slow Foods" website. You may find
considerable interest in browsing the rest of the site for regional
specialties from all over the world (even my Nova Scotia home). The
main site is at

Happy eating and drinking!
