In 1979 23 year old David Booth, a Cincinatti office manager, had a
well documented premonition, that came to him in a series of vivid
dreams, regarding an American Airline crash. I personally recall him
being on the news at the time, and since I was at the time a newly
minted pilot, the accident and Booth's story caught my attention.

He reported this to the FAA and American Airlines, and much detail was
developed, but not enough to prevent the crash of Flight 191 -
described here:
http://www.airdisaster.com/special/special-aa191.shtml. With Booth's
story referenced here -
http://pub16.ezboard.com/funexplainedmysteriesesptheparanormal.showMessage?topicID=126.topic

My question is what became of David Booth? Where is he today? Did he
have any more premonitions or any additional insight into why this
occurred to him, or made any comments about this tragedy (prefereably
recent insights)in the 20+ years since this terrible day in May, 1979?
An additional specific area of interest is also in how this ultimately
affected this young man's life. What in is background might have led
to his particular insight? Have there been any scientific explanations
put forth to explain this event? Did the FAA ever set up a procedure
to handle this type of a report? Was it ever proved to be a hoax?
Thank you in advance for your kind attention...

In reviewing my post, I see that I asked more than one question! I was
hoping for and would be statisfied with a more recent (last ten
years?) magazine or newspaper article (from a reputable publication -
not the National Pyschic Enquirer Weekly;-) that reinterviewed Mr.
Booth, or reinvestigated the incident, and covered some of the matters
that I have raised. Thank you.

Dear fidodogma -

Looks like nothing in the popular press - but a Google search brings
up some paranormal type sites that mention the 1979 event -

Good luck!

Thanks R-A! I brought up your search link and they all came up purple!
(I have been to even all the foreign language sites! - kudu's to
Google's translation software). As you saw they just tell the basic
story, which is what I knew from when the story hit in '79. Beyond
that, nothing. I have searched high and low, to no avail. That's the
reason I came here to GA;) One interested link I found was to a Arthur
C. Clarke "Sightings" video, that I have not seen, that seems to
reference interviewing Booth and wife Pat? as well as Paul Williams,
the FAA fellow, whom Booth first called.

Perhaps someone can work this video angle?

Final FYI, my motivation is just pure curiousity. I was researching
aircraft accident statistics, and came across Flt 191, which jogged my
memory of the pyschic issues surrounding the events. I am a skeptic by
nature, training and profession, and typically don't believe in ESP
etc. but it seems for ten days in May, 1979, David Booth saw into the
future - told what he saw to three professionals who thorougly
documented it: (Williams, Am Airlines, and a Psychiatrist) and what he
saw tragically came to pass. That is one heck of a compelling story!!!
Where has this man gone?

I have a book called "Mystics and Prophets" from Parragon/Orbis
Publishing, published in 1997, and it includes the David Booth story
in a snippet. This is all it had to say as a conclusion:

"David Booth stopped having nightmares once the disaster had happened,
but he continued to feel disturbed by the whole affair. 'How can you
make sense of something like that?' he asked. 'There's no explanation
for it. No meaning. No conclusion. It just doesn't make sense.'"

Not much help, I guess. Seems that this is one of the guys who became
famous for one day, then faded into obscurity. Often happens I guess
with "part-time" famous people.

Appreciate then post, Techtor! For providing accurate details of
future events 15 minutes of fame seems like short shrift. Looks like
this one is a going to be a tough GA nut to crack. I bet the
"Sightings" video tells the tale. Anyone know how to get a transcript?

Thanks again RA...been out of town so pardon the delay in response. I
am ordering the video, perhaps I'll garner some idea of what happened
to this guy or some insight into how he saw into the great
beyond...maybe he changed his name and was the person who just picked
those winning lottery numbers;-) - fido
