Hello, 

Some background information may be needed to attempt an answer. 

1. What is/was the original Operating System on this computer? 
2. Are you trying an 'upgrade' or an 'original/new' installation of
Office XP Pro? Does a version of Office already exist on this machine
3. Is your machine OS set up with Administrator and user rights? Do
you have to log in?
4. Did you experience any other problems with your computer before
this installation attempt?
5. Can you check Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and see if there
is an installation of Office XP Pro/ Office (any other version)?
